Thursday 18th March 2021
Presidents' Announcements
1513 Days ago

Following a Review on 15th March 2021 it was decided that:

  1. Criminal Jury Trials will recommence in the Circuit Court from 12th April 2021.  There will be extended criminal sittings in venues, if the Assigned Judge deems it necessary. District Court Appeals which have already been adjourned will be dealt with on the adjourned date, if possible.  Each Circuit Court office will implement a system of staggered hearings for each day.  All parties to be advised of same.
  2. Family Law Cases and Motions – Family Law matters already adjourned will be given a hearing date by the Circuit Court office as soon as possible.  Consideration will be given to dealing with matters remotely, where possible and appropriate.  The presiding Judge will decide which cases should be dealt with remotely.
  3. Civil Cases and Motions: (a) hearings which have already been adjourned will be given a hearing date as soon as possible  Consideration will be given to dealing with matters remotely, where possible and appropriate.  The presiding Judge will decide which cases should be dealt with remotely. (b) Personal Insolvency will continue to be listed and all applications and hearings will be heard remotely.

Further measures to allow the maximum number of cases to progress will be implemented in consultation with all relevant stakeholders, subject ultimately to safety considerations.

The Hon. Ms. Justice Patricia Ryan

President of the Circuit Court
